Eating Variety of Fruit reduces Lung Cancer Risk

A study has revealed that eating wide variety of fruit and vegetables every day can cut the risk of developing lung cancer by a quarter.
  • Eating at least 8 types of fruits and vegetables in a day is more beneficial than eating only four a day.
  • Smokers in particular can cut their risk, but it totally depends on the variety they eat and not just the quantity of food, reports express.co.uk.
  • Those eating eight or more different types of fruit and vegetables can reduce their chances of developing epidermoid carcinoma of the lung by up to 23 percent.
'Apart from the amount consumed, a varied diet reduces the risk of developing this cancer - above all in smokers,' said Maria Jose Sanchez Perez, the Spanish co-author of the study.
